An approach to Management Communication in India’s MBA Education

A preponderance of being an efficacious manager involves being an effective communicator. Managers acknowledges that, as you climb up the executive ladder, the significance of technical skills and know-how drops while that of communication skills grows. Written Communication – The ability to write decent letters/ affirmative messages in regards to using it for employee encouragement for a specific job role, is perceived to be most important and effective way of communication by the Managers. Writing negative messages/Demotivating letters is considered to be unethical.

In accordance to these skills, Managers places emphasis on three most important communication skills – Improving Listening skills, inculcating effective inter-personal skills and giving exclusive oral presentation.

Evidently, Managers considers oral communication one most important skills in the organizational hierarchy, for one’s development. Oral communication is favored over written communication due to its faster pace and more informative. It is important to develop these skills.
